I made it my mission to watch Project Runway last season. Before Ashley Nell Tipton, there was not a designer on the show that dealt with plus size. We live in a country where the average woman is a size 16 (based on the latest studies), but where were the designers that championed for us. Ashley made it on the show, and each week I saw some great pieces go down the runway. When she won, it was a proud moment. Plus size models walking down the runway during NYFW, looking gorgeous - YES & YES! I was proud; because for years we have been trying to shatter myths about us loving fashion, and being confident in who we are while still wanting to look great was finally out for the whole world to see.

When it was announced that Ashley was going to be the first brand ambassador for JCPenney's Boutique+ line I was ecstatic. Having the option to buy, fun, trendy fashion in sizes 16W-30W is all that I want as a plus size woman. Despite what size I am, I want to wear clothes that make me feel beautiful. I want items that reflect who I am at all times. Boutique+ and Ashley Nell Tipton accomplished that with her first capsule collection.

After school cool in sequins and rose gold. #HereIAm

I love varsity jackets and sequins, so this Sequined Bomber was a must have for me. It's a statement piece - with its rose gold accents, and fun pins. The jacket fits well, I bought a 2X (since I wear a 18 on top), and I have enough room for layering once the temperatures drop. Since I love the rose gold vibes Boutique+ is giving me, I paired the jacket with the rose gold tee. This sparkly rose gold boyfriend tee is oversized, so I was able to size down. The skirts throughout the collection are amazing, but I went with the quilted pencil skirt. The skirt has a generous fit, and sits nice and high on my waist. I went with a 1X in the skirt, and it hugs my curves without sacrificing comfort. Added bonus, all these items are on sale right now! You can now shop in store or at JCP.com. Have you shopped the collection? Which one's are your favorite?

This post was in collaboration with JCPenney, but all opinions are my own.
