Grey

Grey is my favorite color. Stand alone or with another color, it just brings out the best in everything in my biased opinion :). Combine my love of grey with the comfort of a sweatshirt, and boom I am 50% dressed. This sweatshirt and skirt both are from Eloquii. The sweatshirt has great detailing on the shoulder, and keeps me pretty warm. It was 60 degrees today, and I wasn't in need of a jacket. The skirt is coated canvas metallic fabric, so it gives the allure of leather without the weight. I wanted a pop of color so I went with my favorite pumps from C Wonder. These were the best $40 I spent on heels, too bad C Wonder is no more. There's a pair from Sole Society that looks very similar to the ones I am wearing. My tote is from Vince Camuto. I must say, for the past several seasons, there has been at least one bag from their collection that I want. This tote is called the Leila. Mines is white croc, but there are different types. The most recent version is ombre perforated leather which is a must buy if you need a summer tote on sale. I am definitely impressed on my bracelet stacking abilities as of late. Oh how the Lollipop Princess would be so proud. Since I started blogging, I really have stopped planning out every little thing about my outfit and I feel it turns out better. What do you think?

CHECK IT OUT

This outfit was full of my favorite things. For starters, there is my tee from Simply Be. Tees and jeans are my biggest addictions. If the tee is soft, has a fun saying I buy it with no hesitation. My sources for great tees are Simply Be, Asos, and Forever 21. With jeans, if the fit is amazing, brightly colored or rips of some form they must come home with me. These jeans are from last summer from Lane Bryant, but H&M has a patchwork pair in stores right now. There was a time when I refused to wear a blazer. Blazers in plus size were very blah. There was only black, navy, and the occasional white, and the only print you would find is a pinstripe. That is no longer the case (thank you fashion gods). My Windowpane print blazer is from Eloquii.  What made this a keeper for me was that windowpane, unlike gingham, which in my opinion makes me look to sugary sweet cute; this print gives off a cool girl vibe. I wanted to mix things up so I wore my Houndstooth shades from Lane Bryant which plays off the blazer. I could have worn some heels, but I was in a sneaker mood, so I went with Air Force 1's. A fresh pair of Air Force 1's are a mandatory part of your Spring/Summer attire especially when you are from the Bronx. The satchel is from Dooney & Bourke and is definitely going to be in heavy rotation. Despite not being a tote (anyone that knows me, knows that I am all about a tote), this bag carries a lot without all the bulk.  I am definitely going to get this satchel in another color- perhaps baby blue. COLOR POP!

Hello Lovers and Happy Easter! What always comes to mind for me during this time of the year is the Easter Parade and all the little girls wearing candy colored Easter dresses. I love color. I was that kid that always wanted the 64 or 128 box of Crayola crayons so that I can put different combinations together. This wall gave me that Crayola nostalgia and all things Easter. Today's post has some blasts from my closet's past. My top and pants are from Forever 21+ which are oldies but goodies. Lace was not a favorite of mines as a kid because all I can think of was doilies and grannies, but as an adult, lace can be a cool moto jacket, like this one from Eloquii, or in crop top. Coral is a go to color, especially in a slim fit pant. To me, its a happy medium color, its bright, but it is not as shocking as traditional orange.  For more color, I went with neon stud earrings and a bright pink lip. In the spirit of trying new things, I was on the hunt for a pair of white pumps. One of my biggest challenges was finding a pair of white pumps that were sexy. While checking out Instagram, BCBG posted these BCBGeneration pumps, and I fell in love. Share with me how you wear color. Tag #styleoversize on Instagram or email me at styleoversize@gmail.com. I am starting a page sharing everyone's looks.

Emme Spring Fashion Show

This past Thursday, the Lollipop Princess and I attended the Spring Fashion Show at Macy's Herald Square. The show was hosted by Emme, which for those that do not know she is a pioneer in the plus size modeling world. Emme was the first plus size model to walk in a major runway show as well as be featured in major ad campaigns.  Currently, she is working with Syracuse University and launched Fashion Without Limits. This initiative teaches next generation designers how to design for all size women. Normally, design students are taught how to design on a size 4 model, but this programs teaches them also how to design for a size 12. This is exciting, because there are a lot of up and coming designers that can create some beautiful designs for all women. Fashion should never exclude in my opinion, and I am happy that Emme & Syracuse University are changing that. Now let's get back to the fashion show. Emme went over the biggest trends of the season: Florals, Daytime Shine, Full Skirts, and Yellow.  The show had some great pieces from Calvin Klein, American Rag, and Michael Michael Kors.

At the event, I met Chantè from Everything Curvy and Chic. This was her first time walking in a fashion show, and from the way she owned it, I couldn't even tell. I met her after the show, and she was down to earth, funny, and gave me some great advice. Definitely check out her blog, she slays! Also, I ran into Sarah from Curvily. She was very encouraging to me when I was thinking about blogging. Anytime I run into her we end up chatting for at least an hour on fashion.

For the event, I went with my Heathered Midi Dress from  Forever 21+. This dress is $20, it is soft, and not clingy at all. It hugs my curves in all the right places without feeling the least bit constricting. I paired it with my favorite jacket from Eloquii. It encompasses all of the major trends of the season: Neoprene and Bold Florals. Anytime I wear this jacket  I receive tons of compliments. Since it was a rainy day in NYC, I wore my motorcycle boots from DV Dolce Vita.  My necklace is from H&M.
