Suede

Suede is one of my favorite fabrics. My first suede item (that I can recall) was a pink suede Sister Sister-esque hat. For all my people that were born in the 70's-80's you know what kind of hat I'm talking about. :) I loved that hat so much!! I wore it with everything.

Fast forward to now- the majority of my shoes- suede. Not the best to wear in bad leather, but you can not deny that a red suede pump is not the sexiest. Whether real or faux suede has a soft spot in my heart. Now suede is creeping into my wardrobe in the form of shirts, skirts, and now a jumpsuit. It was a no brainer when I saw this jumpsuit on Eloquii's website. This is the perfect item to wear right now. It's Spring, but there is still a slight chill in the air, so wearing this keeps you warm without over-heating yourself. I get hot easily, so trust me, if I felt trapped I would not be wearing it. The temp in NYC was in the 50's, so this with a jacket was perfect. The cropped wide leg on this jumpsuit was the right width for me. When buying wide leg pants, I am always mindful of the fit because I want it to skim the leg to create a long line.  I never want them too tight or too loose on my thighs. These hit right at my sweet spot in order to show off these cute patchwork pumps from Zara. These shoes accentuate the jumpsuit effortlessly. They can make an impact all by themselves or play well with another colorful item. Thinking about pairing these shoes with another print to practice my pattern mixing. They are the perfect height for strolling around town. I went with my cool statement necklace from Baublebar, bold pink lippie, and my Dooney & Bourke handbag.

Pastel

When I was little, I loved me some baby pink...I wore the coolest pink and white striped Osh Kosh B'Gosh overalls with matching pink sneakers. Pink was everything for me. Then I got older and I was all about dark colors. Pink was for babies, and I wanted no part of it. In college, I went through another pink phase, but it was not like how it was when I was younger. Now as an adult, I'm all about the versatility, coolness and neutrality of grey. When pastels came back on the scene and how easily they can be paired with practically any color, I was intrigued. How can I make it work for my body, and look cool, not cutesy? It's all about the silhouette.

This off the shoulder top was a no brainer for me. I had to have it in my wardrobe. The cold shoulder was just the gateway to going full blown bare, and I am all for it. It comes in three colors, black, pink, and chambray. You can't go wrong with black, but I wanted to do something different and try the baby pink. Wearing something sexy and cool like this top in pink was what I needed to incorporate more pastels in my life. These pastel blue jeggings from Fashion to Figure paired perfectly with the top. I have been a fan of these since they dropped last fall, and the light blue pair is great for this season. Ample stretch and they hit right above my waist- two of my requirements when buying jeans. For accessories I went with my suede wedges and paint splattered clutch from the Who What Wear Collection for Target. My rule for wearing pastels, mix it up with darker based colors in a similar family or another pastel for Easter egg goodness. I like to pair pink with red or fuschia. What do you think lovers? Are you ready to go bare this season, or are you going to be all about pastels? Let me know in the comments!! Muah!!

CCX

It's crazy how Athleisure has taken over and become such a big part of our day to day. Now that Atlhleisure is here to stay more brands are getting on board and creating plus size activewear. It's one thing to have just your basic black yoga pant and a sports bra, it's another when you have fun and colorful options. There is nothing wrong with basics, but when I work out, I want them to be fun. For me, wearing something fun gives me a little bit of motivation to get out and be active. New to the active world is City Chic. Their line, CCX just launched this month and there are some goodies being offered. My pick was the Zip Front Tank Top in Paradise.

I love the bright coral color and its stretchy but still holds you in and smooths you out. It does have a built in shelf bra, but if you are on the busty side like myself I suggest wearing a sports bra underneath (they have a cute one up on the site). CCX also has a matching jacket which is great for those chilly morning workouts. I kept the rest simple with a pair of leggings and one of my favorite sneakers of all time: Air Max 95. Neon green looks great when paired with coral (definitely going to try this color combo again).  I have been wearing this classic sneaker since high school. It looks great with activewear as well as streetwear. Definitely feeling the new active line from City Chic, and I can't wait to see what else they will drop in the next couple of months. Until next time lovers!!

Easter ushers in Spring and all the beautiful colors of the season. For me Easter is the official start of dress season. Now I wear some dresses or skirts here and there during the winter, but I love wearing dresses sans tights. This is the start of my favorite time of the year. To celebrate I wanted to wear this dress that I bought a while ago in anticipation of this weather.

This dress has been in my closet for months, just itching for a nice day to wear it. I'm not the only one that loved it, because it has been sold out for some time now. This is the quintessential wrap dress. I am a firm believer that all women should have one wrap dress in their closet. It creates a waist, and just embraces your figure in all the right places. This one I love for the print as well as the slight hi-lo hemline. The hemline lets you show off the gams, which I love to play up as much as I can. The wrap is sold out, but there is a tee shirt version in the same print. I love this print, it was such a hit in the crop top and wide leg pants. Half of this collection is no longer available due to its popularity. Fingers crossed, hopefully they will bring it back because it's perfect now that the temperatures are warming up.

I have been looking forward to Spring for another reason - the cute shoes from Eloquii!! They have been teasing us for some months now with their next shoe collection. Their Fall shoe collection was a hit (over the knee boots, and booties), and Spring is even better. Block heels, jeweled, cutouts, flatforms, there is something for everyone. I'm all about a ankle tie. They can be fun and sexy. I am wearing the Lili ankle tie in Cognac. The block heel makes them easy to walk in, and the cognac color looks great against my skin. If you are looking for a cute heeled sandal, I say give these a try. These shoes and this dress- definite hit. What did you wear this Easter?
