All White Cruise #FFF2015

June 22, 2015 by Jami Jaye in Fashion

Continuing on with a great week of fashion, fun, and fellowship, next up for me was the Full Figured Fashion Week All White Cruise. The cruise is one of the biggest events of the week rivaled to the fashion shows. It's always great to see all the beautiful women showing off their best in white. For this year's event I went with Fashion to Figure's Mesh Crop Top and my favorite pants from Lane Bryant. I was feeling quite adventurous and decided to show some belly. Usually when I wear a crop top its with a high waisted skirt, but I wanted to mix it up. I was going to wear some cute heels, but I remember last year when I brought them and took them off after an hour because of all of the rocking back and forth. So I decided to forgo changing shoes and went with my Vince Camuto Miya sandals. These are my sandals of the summer, and currently on sale at Vince Camuto. So if you are in the need of a good leather sandal, look no further. Since I was feeling bold, I decided to rock a bold purple lip. I mixed two of my favorite purple lippies Mac Violetta & Signature PS Unlimited.

This year the cruise was held on a spacious yacht. There were three floors so there was plenty of room to move about and socialize. On the first floor, Ashley Stewart had a mini runway show displaying their best white  party outfits. There were cut-out jeans, flowy dresses, lace, and linen. There were some great giveaways, and we even got some performances. What made my evening was meeting bloggers that I have admired such as Assa from My Curves and Curls, and Ashley from Big Beautiful Black Girls. Of course I spent time with my girls Sandra & Darlene and my new boo Gavyn. I danced, I laughed, and I had the best drink ever called the Long Beach- its the cousin of a Long Island Iced Tea. Shout out to the bartender, he sure can mix some drinks. What's your go to white party outfit? You can email your best looks or use my hashtag #styleoversize to be featured. Until next time lovers! Muah!

Harper + Liv Visit

June 17, 2015 by Jami Jaye

I had the pleasure of visiting the Harper + Liv Showroom on Monday to check out their Summer Collection. As soon as I walked into the showroom, I was in love. There was not one piece there that I did not want. Their summer collection is what I like to call Boho Chic; there are crochet tops, vests, cut-off shorts, printed pants, flowy tops, and kimono's. What I like about Harper + Liv is that there is something for everyone in their collection. Also, the brand is all about color. Anyone that knows me, knows that I love colorful pieces, so anyone that can provide me with color, or a print that looks great, I am buying it. My overall look is far from bohemian, but the kimono and crochet top are worth a try. Stay tuned, I will have a post up with some pieces from the collection. Harper + Liv Summer collection is available online now at Dillards. As a bonus I got a sneak peak of their upcoming Fall & Winter collections. I have posted some of my favs just to give you a taste of what is in store for this brand.

Pieces from the Harper + Liv Summer Collection. I meant to get a pic of the cut-off shorts...soo cute.

This weekend I attended the First Annual Golden Confidence Pool Party hosted by blogger Essie Golden (I say First Annual, because this is definitely an event that should happen again). This was my first pool party, and it will definitely not be my last. It was held at the Holiday Inn in Hell's Kitchen which had a great rooftop pool. The weather and view was perfect. The party had a bar, finger food, ice cream sundae's, and a photo booth. There were giveaways, and just all out fun. Everyone that was there swimsuit game was on point. There were so many women slaying, I had major girl crushes all night. The DJ was spinning while everyone was dancing, catching up, and dancing in the pool. It was great to spend some time with my Twinny La Pecosa Preciosa and Darlene from Suits, Heels, and Curves, got to see my homegirl Camy from Pop Up Plus (check out her online boutique lots of cute clothes), and I met a new blogger who goes by the name The Curvy Cutie. For the event, I went with Forever 21+. This summer they went all out for their plus size swim collection. I have bought at least 3 suits from them and I am planning to wear every one. My bikini of the evening is called Splattered Abstract. I went with the sports bra version with the cut-out bottoms. My version is sold-out online, but there are still some bottoms on their site, but I have noticed here in NYC the stores have a decent amount of swim available. My cover-up is from Forever 21 as well, but it is now sold out...sorry lovers, but here is another great option. Are you planning to rock a bikini this summer? Sound off in the comments.

Bon Appetit

June 08, 2015 by Jami Jaye

This weekend I went to a great Parisian Themed Brunch held at one of my favorite spots in the Bronx. Everyone was looking great and the food was amazing as always. All I have to say is CHAMPAGNE INFUSED CUPCAKES (The way to my heart is through cupcakes and burgers). For this wonderfully planned event, I went with Eloquii's Stained Glass Crop Top & Ponte Skirt. I first fell in love with this print when I bought the skirt, but when the top was posted on their site, I had to have this as well. As of late, I have been all about that flat life, but since it was my boo's birthday I had to step up my shoe game and break out my BCBGeneration Ovation pumps. My studded jacket is from Lane Bryant and once again my Dooney & Bourke Zip Satchel made an appearance. I am telling you that besides many plotting on my bag for its cuteness, the functionality of this bag rivals its cuteness. This bag holds a lot - I had my Canon Rebel, flats, wallet, and phone, with some room to spare.

PISCES

June 01, 2015 by Jami Jaye

Today's post comes from the sold out Lily Pulitzer for Target collection. It was quite humid and I had to run some errands, so I wanted to wear something comfortable. I tend to shy away from strapless items all because for the longest time it was hard for me to find a supportive strapless bra, but I have found one that works well, so you may be seeing more of my shoulders this Summer. What I love about this jumpsuit is the print. The online picture did not do this jumpsuit any justice. From far away, its just a cool looking blue & white print, but up close you get to see the fish detail. I'm a Pisces, so I found it funny that I ended up with the fish printed jumpsuit (wasn't planned that way, but hey it works). Secondly, I love that it was not tight. There are times when I feel its necessary for a form-fitting jumpsuit, but this one works better on the looser side (in my opinion). My necklace is called the Acid Fringe Necklace from Baublebar. This necklace has become my new favorite item. I have already worn it several times because of its simplistic versatility. I wear this necklace with dresses as well as tees, and I always receive compliments. It also comes in neon green, which is cool for those who want a pop of color which would have worked well with this outfit as well. My sandals are Circus by Sam Edelman; these were featured last week in my Score of the Week. These sandals are quite comfy, and if you are in the need of a cute simple slide, I suggest these (especially for $30).  The goldtone cat-eye sunnies are from Miu Miu.
