L&T-Modamix Holiday Party

The wonderful ladies of Modamix invited me as well as my fellow blogger boo's Sandra from La Pecosa Preciosa and Darlene from Suits, Heels, and Curves to attend Lord & Taylor's Holiday Party. Lord & Taylor was unveiling their holiday windows, and held various celebrations throughout the store. The 6th floor hosted a fabulous Holiday Fashion Show. I love a good show with a DJ spinning and the champagne flowing. The show featured some great pieces from Modamix's Fall and Holiday collections. Added bonus, my boo, the talented Gavyn from The Curvy Cutie was one of the models. Gavyn wore the Ari Printed Scuba Jacket with the matching Nikki Scuba Leggings. Kristen is wearing the Cameron Floral Crop Top. The biggest trends for the Holiday season (Velvet, Sequin, Layering) were on display and how you can make them work for all body types.

For the event, I wore Modamix's Sasha Fringe Dress with my black BCBGeneration pumps. I love the faux leather fringe detail. It makes a statement without any added effort. The ponte material is nice and thick which is great for the Holidays because you can be warm, comfortable, and sexy. I would definitely wear this dress to work with a blazer and a great pair of flats, then change into some nice heels, and a dark lip (like I did) and head to happy hour or your Holiday party.

I had a great time, and my girl's looked fab as always. Darlene wore the Abby Cold Shoulder Top with the Morgan Wide Leg Pants and finished it off with Adam Lippes for Target flats. Sandra wore the Sparkle Sequin Top with the Callie Sequin Pants. Sandra's sparkling shoes are from Lane Bryant. We are one banging trio. Modamix definitely knows how to make some great clothes for plus size women. You can buy all of our looks from Lord and Taylor. BIG SHOUT OUT TO MODAMIX!! Thank you for thinking of me and inviting me to take part in this great event.

Found My Cape!

I have been on the hunt for the perfect cape for a couple of seasons. Either they were too big or not broad enough to sit properly on my shoulders. I was this close to giving up, but this season between the cape blazer and so many other options for capes, I went back on the hunt. Mango plus size line Violeta has been on my radar for a while, but unfortunately some of the pieces I bought in the past from them did not fit. I saw this cape from them, and I had to give it a try. I went with their size L which is equivalent to a size 18.

I am glad that I took a chance on this cape. I am able to move around and it looks great. I am surprised how warm it kept me. I was heading out to run some errands so I kept it simple with a sweatshirt from Eloquii and my super stretchy jeggings from Forever 21+. Sweatshirts in the fall replace my tees as my go to staple. There is not one sweatshirt I own that I can not dress up with a great pair of pants or a skirt. Weekend runs call for a good pair of flats. My flats are from the Adam Lippes for Target collection that dropped last month. There are still some goodies from this collection on the site and these flats are $21!! Along for the ride is my Kate Spade crossbody which easily converts to a clutch.

It took a while to find the right cape, but things happen for a reason. The fashion gods looked out for your girl, and now I can walk around the city looking fab. I was determined to get a cape, but more than anything, the fit had to be right. I am glad that I tried and tried many versions before I found the one. I received so many compliments while I was running errands on my cape. Thank you Violetta for Mango!!! Muah!

Cozy

Another Sweater Weather approved post lovers! Long dusters are my favorite because you can wear them in lieu of a coat. When I saw the Kit Leopard Duster on Fashion To Figure's site, it was a must have.

Sweater dusters or coats, are the perfect Fall accessory. First they are warm, two cozy, and three they are cute. When I wear sweater dusters I always go for items that are cut closer to the body, so that I don't look wider than what I am. Skinny jeans are a must have for this purpose. Fashion to Figure's skinny jeans are super stretchy and soft which makes them very comfortable. For $40, these are a good buy if you are in need of some jeans. I love me some fur, so I immediately grabbed this fur stole from Zara. I can just wrap myself up in it while looking luxurious. I love having accessories that look more expensive than they are. The best looks from people are when you tell them where its from and they are like "No way!!" and start to google. Great footwear is always the perfect ending to the perfect outfit, and I went with my Coach heels, and my go to bag from Dooney & Bourke. I would definitely remix this duster for work by pairing it with a leather skirt and some booties. Let me know what you would wear in the comments.
