Chambray Heaven

July 15, 2015 by Jami Jaye in Plus Size Fashion

As of late, I have been all about my jumpsuits and today I am sharing one from Modamix. I got this cutie when I was at Curvy Con last month. This is the epitome of my summer dressing- one and done. With jumpsuits and dresses, all you need to do is put it on and you are out the door. I am big believer that you can get easily get dressed and still look pulled together. The Modamix Chambray jumpsuit is a must have for your closet. Chambray does not stretch so I went up a size and went with the 18. The waist has elastic- which is a major bonus. When it comes to elastic waist, I am concerned that it will sit so close to my boobs that it looks like a bad empire top. This is not like that AT ALL. The elastic on this jumpsuit defines my waist, so I did not see a need to wear a belt. Accessories wise, I went with my big chain bracelet, some cool sunnies, and my big tote. This tote is from Dooney & Bourke, aka "My Life Bag". Anytime I have to travel, it has enough space for my camera, laptop, and all my random stuff in pouches (ask my friends, my bags are a treasure chest of products). This is the extra large version, but there is a medium sized one currently on their site. My wedges are oldies but goodies from Dolce Vita. I felt that the height and punch of color was a great way to tie in all the cuteness I am serving up (HA!!). Ladies, Modamix is a great resource for one and done dressing (they have some of the cutest dresses). Definitely check them out. Later lovers!

#XOQ Rooftop Party

June 24, 2015 by Jami Jaye in Fashion, Plus Size Fashion

Friday night I had the pleasure of attending a lovely rooftop party at the Wythe Hotel hosted by Eloquii in honor of the first annual Curvy Con which is the brainchild of Cece Olisa & Chastity Garner. Eloquii had their own private suite with a bartender creating the signature cocktail of the evening called the #XOQ, a great drink made with tequila and grapefruit juice, great finger food (mini cheeseburgers & grilled cheese), as well as a gorgeous view of the city. Since it was an Eloquii event, it was only right to wear something of theirs. For the evening I went with their Ruffle Sleeve Jumpsuit. When I first saw this jumpsuit I thought there was no way I can pull this off, but when I saw Jeniese from Je Ne Sais Quoi  wear it, I was inspired to give it a try. (I got a chance to meet her at the event, and we bonded over jumpsuits- she is my girl crush). Alas, when I went to go buy it my size was sold out - NOOOO! I guess the fashion gods were on my side because I ended up getting an email from Eloquii saying that it was back in stock. I made sure I did not miss out on it this time around round, and double bonus there was a sale! I kept the royal blue going by pairing the jumpsuit with my Vince Camuto Casara sandals. I found these cuties on the sale rack at Macy's and I am glad I did. I was standing in these for about 4 hours and I was good. Any heel that does not want me to take them off and throw them across the room after two hours is a keeper. Definitely give these shoes a try if you are looking for a cute and comfy heel, also the royal blue pairs well with a lot of colors which makes them extremely versatile. Accessories wise I went with my leopard Gap pouch, Miu Miu shades, and my gold bib necklace.

Back to the event- I was super excited because I got to meet my gram friend Dionna from Made Me Pretty in person! I also got to meet Jeniese, Georgette from Grown and Curvy Woman, and Pepper from Pretty Plus Pep . I chatted with Keirra Sheard- she marveled at the fact that my jumpsuit matched my shoes perfectly (swoon) and we chatted about the launch of her new clothing line Eleven 60. I definitely want to thank the Eloquii team for a wonderful event. Mariah, Jodi, and the rest of the team are great and it was great to meet them in person. Of course I spent time with my usual suspects, and afterwards we kept it going with drinks, laughs, and food. Here are some pics I took of the of some of the lovely ladies that attended. It was nice being behind the camera again taking shots of all the gorgeous ladies in attendance. Next up lovers is the first annual Curvy Con. Check back later this week for my recap of the event.
