I had the pleasure of attending the People StyleWatch party to celebrate their Denim Issue. It was held at the new Dos Camino's restaurant in Times Square. Naturally, I went with denim, but I wanted to wear something special for the event. Denim will always be my first fashion love. I have tried all fits and washes, but I have never had a pair of embellished jeans- until now.

When I saw these on Lane Bryant's website, I HAD to have them. The 6th and Lane Collection this season has some great denim options. All of the jeans are soft and have enough stretch to hug you ever so nicely. I already love boyfriend jeans for their laid back slightly fitted look, but add cool embellishments, and these jeans are a win-win. Vests are my go to this Fall, and there are a lot of options in plus, like this one from Nordstrom's plus size brand Sejour. This one is great because you can wear it open or treat it like a top like I did. I wore these great low heel pumps from Coach (isn't the chain detailing awesome), and my quilted Rebecca Minkoff purse. My usual go to for accessories is a statement necklace, but I decided to switch it up and rock a belt. I don't own many belts, but I really love Eloquii's Obi Belt. It's nice and long so I was able to get my fashion stylist skills on and tie it in a cool way. Are you feeling my embellishment?

Last week I attended the #PlusIsEqual event hosted by Lane Bryant. For those that are not familiar with the campaign it is all about more inclusiveness in fashion. In America, the average woman is a size 14 or greater, but most clothing stores do not carry sizes greater than a 16. Lane Bryant made it their mission to not only shed light on this, but to tell the world that being plus is nothing to be ashamed of. They shot a great campaign with gorgeous women showing off their curves. What better way to kick off the campaign but to have an event in the middle of Times Square in the middle of the day.

Being in Times Square at noon is the biggest tourist trap one can be in, but it was worth it. There were tons of gorgeous women of all shapes and sizes coming together. After being entertained by the Pretty Big Movement dance troupe, and the marching band lead by Wendy Williams and Brad Goreski we went back to the Herald Square store for some champagne and pictures.

I had a blast, it was great meeting some bloggers in town for NYFW, meeting new people and just having fun. I got to meet Amanda Bingson, and she is the dopest. When you see people in magazines and award shows, they look so glam and fab, you forget at times we are just women. We all are the same. We have our strengths and weaknesses and we are beautiful.

Melissa McCarthy Collection

Ever since I have heard about her capsule collection, I have been waiting to see all that Melissa McCarthy for Seven7 had to offer. There were a lot of teasers from many magazines, and I can honestly say I was intrigued. When HSN launched the line on their site, I will be honest I was not in love. There were a lot of pieces from the ads that I saw that were not available on the site. Weeks later, I was finally able to see the Melissa McCarthy Collection for Seven7 for myself at Macy's Herald Square.

There are a lot of tops, over-sized sweaters, ponte pants, and jeans. The tops are loose fitting and are great to wear with their ponte leggings or skinnies. The sweaters are kimono style which allows for layering. My favorite pieces are the blush bow blouse and the skinnies. I tried on a couple of the pieces, and for the most part the fit worked for me. The heart top I tried in a 1X, the arms were a little tight, so a 2X would be better. The kimono was perfect in the 1X since it was roomy, and the bow blouse I had to size up to the 3X for my arms. What I was actually shocked that fit well was the jeans. I tried on the skinnies in size 16 and they were perfect. They are stretchy, soft, and come high up on my waist. I definitely suggest giving these a try if you are in the hunt for a new pair of jeans. I was pressed for time so I did not get a chance to try on the ponte pants, but if the jeans are an indication of the fit, then the pants are must have as well (I love the buffalo print ponte pants the most). For a new launch, there are some goodies, and I will definitely check out what else she has in store for the remainder of fall.

Happy September Lovers!!! Today's post is about this great Fringe Tank from Eloquii. I love me some suede and leather (faux or real), so when I saw this top on Eloquii's site I just had to make it mine. Immediately when you think of fringe, the first thing that comes to mind is boho, but this top is more rock & roll than bohemian. The fringe makes it the perfect top for a night out with my woes. More times than not, I will accessorize a top with a necklace, but this top didn't need one. It's slightly cropped, so when I was looking for something to wear with it I felt a good pair of high-waist jeans would be great. The jeans are from Forever 21+ (I have been finding some goodies from them this past month), and they come up high on my waist. I consider these more of a jegging on the account that they are super soft and have 7% stretch. My shoes aka my snow leopards are from Halogen. These are no longer on Nordstrom's site, but there are some cute Sam Edelman's that are similar to my pumps. Are you up for a little fringe this season?

Smarty Pants

I can't believe it...this is my last post for August!! August is officially over, and summer is quickly coming to a close. Fall shopping is in full effect, but I have been gravitating towards fun pieces that can easily transition throughout the seasons. Forever 21+ has some great transitional goodies. I combined their High Slit Longline Vest with their Textured Drawstring Pant to make a fun and cute summer suit. Now I have never been the biggest fan of suits, but this season with all the great color and texture, I am willing to give them a try. I must say, I love the way the outfit turned out. The pants have a bit of stretch and they are not heavy, so even though it was hot outside I was able to be cool and cute. My top is the Ponte Bandeau from Harper + Liv. This bandeau is a definite must have and currently on sale. Ponte is one of my favorite fabrications because its wrinkle resistant (because who has time to iron), and stretchy. The bandeau has great coverage but still gives the flexibility to show some skin. My Nobel shooties are from Steve Madden, and I got these last week. These are great!!! First, the peep toe (I love showing off my pedi). Second, the heel height, Third, the price (I picked these up on sale and was able to use an additional coupon- SCORE!!). You will be seeing these a lot this fall. With all the basics I was wearing, I went with my neon Michael Kors tote. I love this tote, you can never go wrong with a perforated neon tote. Fun and functional how can one resist? Summer is winding down lovers, are you ready for Fall?
